On June 13 the unthinkable took place. Levi and friends were celebrating the last day of the school year at a friend’s pool when a diving accident occurred. Quick to act were Chase Nagle, Eliot Arbuckle, and Weston Baisley, who saved their friend. Levi sustained a serious spinal injury and was airlifted to the IWK where he has been under the watchful care of doctors and nurses. His parents, Jamie and Kelly and two sisters, Ainsley and Zoey have remained by his side. Thanks to the heroic action of his friends, Levi is with us, and we are incredibly grateful.
The days ahead are full of uncertainty and the unknown for the Sutherland family. However, what is known is the example of resilience, determination, and courage that Levi is and continues to be.
Like any other 16-year-old, Levi Sutherland was looking forward to getting his driver’s licence, but those plans are on hold after a devastating diving accident last week.
