Take in the weekly Meet and Greet car show on July 14. All donations will be forward to Sutherland family.
A somewhat long post coming up but we wanted to ensure everyone understood our reasoning about some slight changes to show of Sunday July 14th 2024.
Our Weekly Meet And Greet are about strengthening our community, Having a safe place for all of us to meet, and helping each other. When we see our members hurting, we hurt. You may have heard about the swimming accident of a 16-year-old named Levi Sutherland.
Levi, now dubbed Ironman, Sutherland had an accident at the pool.
On July 14th all the money from the 50/50 and Pop/water sale will continue to go to the year's charity of choice. However, all the money from the donations will be forwarded to the Sutherland family. The recent update given was on June 20th, 2024 "He’s now with his family at the IWK in Halifax, NS. It’s a serious spinal injury that is resulting in some paralysis. There is no idea at this point how much that may improve or how long it will take. There have been encouraging signs. We are thankful for all of that. What we know is that this is very difficult for Levi and his family. It will be a long road of recovery in any instance." Those who have been through the horror of having a sick child know there will be many missed days of work, deductibles on insurance, and additional mileage with an unknown future.
If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to contact one of the committee members. If we do not have the answers we will know which parents on site that night will. As always this warms the coldest of hearts to see the community rally together.
"This young, strong man is a very close friend of Chase's -- this was a terrible accident that happened when they were having fun celebrating their last day of school. This family will have a lot of things to get through these next few months, worrying about money should not be one of their struggles. If you can donate in any way, even the smallest amount, it would personally mean a lot to me, Jeff and Chase. Thank you!
If you have some extra thoughts, prayers or whatever it is that gets you through times like this -- those would be appreciated too.
Please share."
